The glass that sees the whisky as a blender does.
Overview
The Oval draws its form from the blending glasses used in the great distilleries of Scotland, where master distillers evaluate each cask not by age or label, but purely by what the nose reveals. The oval bowl is a deliberate departure from the round: it creates distinct channels of air movement as the spirit is swirled, surfacing aromatic layers that a standard glass might keep submerged.
The Oval also carries a subtle optical treatment to its exterior, a fine surface texture, known as the "optic touch", that catches and refracts light, giving the glass a quiet presence on any table. At 200ml, it offers the capacity for a generous measure with room to breathe. The tapered rim draws floral and fruity top notes forward; the solid base and slender stem keep the hand away from the bowl's heat. This is a working tool as much as an object of beauty.
A version of the Oval with a matching lid can be added.
